10 Days – Sri Lanka Essence Tour

Meet your dedicated, English-speaking chauffeur-guide upon arrival and take a short, comfortable drive to the coastal town of Bentota. Spend your first day unwinding by the Indian Ocean, shaking off jet lag, and acclimatizing to the tropical warmth.

Drive south to the historic city of Galle. Spend the afternoon exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort. Enjoy a picturesque sunset walk along the ancient ramparts before diving into the local culinary scene.

Enjoy a beautiful coastal drive as we head toward the untamed wilderness of Yala National Park. In the evening, jump into an open-top jeep for an exciting wildlife safari to track leopards, elephants, and exotic birds. (If conditions require, we will seamlessly route to Udawalawe)

: Leave the dry plains behind and drive up into the cool, misty mountains of Ella. We will stop to admire Ravana Falls before visiting the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Stretch your legs with a rewarding hike up Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views.

Step aboard the famous blue train for a highly scenic journey from Ella to Nanu Oya. Afterwards, dive into Sri Lanka's colonial heritage with a guided visit to a working tea estate and factory, finishing with a fresh Ceylon tea tasting session.

Descend from the high mountains into the cultural capital of Kandy. Immerse yourself in the island's deep spiritual history with a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, and wrap up the evening watching a vibrant, traditional cultural dance performance.

Journey north into the famed Cultural Triangle. Stand in awe of the ancient Buddhist murals inside the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Cave Temples. Later, embark on an unforgettable sunset climb up the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya.

For the early risers, an optional sunrise climb of Sigiriya is available to beat the heat. Afterwards, slow down the pace entirely with a peaceful cycling tour through a traditional local village, culminating in a deeply authentic, home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch

Return to the coast for a final day of pure relaxation. We tailor this to the seasons to guarantee you the best weather: returning to Bentota for trips between December and April, or heading to the pristine, calm waters of Trincomalee for trips between May and September.
